22 Whoo Hooo

You don't have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great.

So let's sit and think that one over. In the back of my mind I remember reading about 21 days to make or break a habit. I know that isn't the same for all of us cause we are all different. But I think that there is something to be said about how long it does take for you to make something a habit. For me personally, I think it will take longer than the 21 day myth. But to even make it 20some days into this change of life is a huge accomplishment for me.

My days vary but I start out by getting 1/2 way ready for work and then mixing my Ionix Supreme up. That is 8oz of water, a few squirts of lemon juice and a oz of the Supreme. I chug that while I finish getting ready-before 6:30am. Brush my teeth, refill the bottle with water for tomorrow morning and stick it in the fridge. I like it nice and cold. Some time in between there I measure out my scoops of shake mix and add them to plastic baggies. One for breakfast and one for lunch. If I don't drink the lunch one I use it for dinner at home.
Once I am at work, I log into MFP and copy over the day before's breakfast. It hasn't changed during this time except on the weekends I add frozen fruit and blend that up. Just 1/2 cup. Anyhow at about 8:30-9am ish, I go into the breakroom and get my cold bottle of water out of the fridge. I put the measured powder into the cup 1st and add about 4 oz of water. I stir it up really good to mix it and break any clumps and then add water till it gets to the top of my shaker cup. I think its about 14 oz of total water. Then I shake the crap out of it and drink it down. They say you need to drink it within 10 min that you added water. Something to do with the live enzymes that are now activated. I also take the Accelerator pill at the same time. I fill up my 1st 16 oz water bottle of the day-I refill the one I just emptied. A nice perk of my job...unlimited bottled water and water coolers so I can refill. I do add a packet of Crystal Light flavors cause I just can't do plain water. But hey, if I can down 3 of these bottles before I leave home I feel I am in good shape. Usually a fresh plain water on the way home so that I have about 67oz of water down. However then I have to pee a lot. All day long which can make for a tough time walking. But there are 2 pit stops along the way if I need to use them.
I am usually good and not hungry till around lunch time-11:30-12:30ish. But they do strongly suggest a snack mid morning time. Then depending on what my night has planned for me-I will have a light 400-600 calorie lunch or another shake. Now there are days when I am not hungry for a afternoon snack. It is much easier for me to REMEMBER to take the afternoon Accelerator pill when I do eat my afternoon snack so there is that. Most of the time I forget the 2nd pill till it is too late to take it. Anyhow the hunger in the afternoon...it doesn't seem to matter if it was a shake for lunch or not. But yesterday I was starving by the time I got home and since I know that my walks burn anywhere from 400-600 calories I knew I had to eat before I walked. And then I had to eat something after I got home to help keep me fueled.
Now my lunches vary. Some times a wrap with turkey, some times a small salad, or a small portion of leftovers. Just depends on what I have time for. I do need to be much better at prepping lunches.

Snacks for me are carrots, yogurt, fruit, string cheese...things like that. Easy for me to take to work.

Dinner varies on what I have at home or what I ate already during the day. Most nights it's a shake with 1/2 cup of frozen fruit. Or what I have time for and since I like to take long 4 mile walks most days shakes are fast, filling and convenient.

Why am I going into depth on the food thing? Well when I have been on a ISA FB page there are some hard core, strict followers. Like say no to chewing gum strict. I want you to know, I eat normal food. I drink coffee with Splenda(GASP) in it. I use flavor packets in my water. I add frozen fruit to my shakes. I eat frozen processed meals when I am in a pinch. And I chew gum all day long.

Doing this is not a DIET, it's a lifestyle change. Which means to me that I need to use the things already in my life to make the change stick and work for me. And it is working. :)
